WOW, THANKS TO SMARTKIDS, FINAL YEAR IN UNIVERSITY OF GHANA

Slowly but sure , final year in the university has approached. Academic work is now in full swing. I personally have so much this semester particulary at the point of ensuring that I am able to defend my GPA which is in the first class zone.
Well my project work is also a big issue to hurdle. Hopefully i have the conviction that researching on the topic "Quality health service delivery in a contemporary health care system: The case of Twifo Praso Government Hospital " will be a success to the dedication of the entire SmartKids fraternity.
Reading health service administration has really revitalise my interest in health promotion issues. Also gaining a practical experience during my vacation attachment at Twifo Praso Hospital has really given me the opportunity to apply classroom tuition to real job situation.

SEMESTER'S EXAMS IN PROGRESS

After four months of serious academic work characterised by social and political activities, the curtain on the end of semester's exams has finally being drawn. personally I feel very enthused because it is the beginning of my final year. The exams has begun in a calm way, but seriousness on the part of students.
For me, I am writing a six courses with a total credit hours of eighteen(18). Though this semester's courses are more practical, it then gives me the confiction that better grades will be obtained than the previous semester.
Well, the beginning of my project work has begun (long essay). My department has called for submission of all proposal topics. On my part I wish to research on,"measurement indicators of community health ". If by 26th of may, I have being able to defend it, then that will be my reseach work for my 1st degree programme.
This semester closes on the 28th of may, 2011.

Mid semester

It has all being so nice right from the beginning of the semester. Campus has not being that boring. Both academic and social lives have being good.Though second semester is usually noted to be a tiring one, on the average this has being okay. That notwithstanding, one cannot rule the social and political activities connected to it. Talking of the numerous hall week celebrations with very interesting activities;the swagger beach - the most patronized beach party.
Well one can also not take out one of the most highly rated agendum for the second sem.- Thus S.R.C elections. Though due to some legal misunderstandings that erupted the whole process making it impossible for the election to take place last year, I can foresee a very smooth but tensioned elections with particular emphasis on the presidency this year even though nominations is yet to be opened.
During mid semester  like this, academic work becomes more intense as students prepare for quizzes and mid semester exams. I am even writing a quiz tomorrow on research methods.
I end with a simple food for thought.

EDUCATION IN AFRICA; THE SMARTKIDS APPROACH.

The SmartKids foundation since its inception in 2004 in Ghana and for that matter Africa has done so much benefits to the respective beneficiaries, their families and the nation at large. How is this explained? This educational foundation has in its small way being able to sponsor close to 120 brilliant but needy pupils/students from very deprived communities throughout Ghana. Thanks to the international co-ordinator for effective and efficient management.
The smartKids approach in ensuring that deprived brilliant but NEEDY pupils have access to quality education hence eradicating poverty is based on the philosophical principle that'' people should not be given fish but rather should be given fishing rods".
Currently, the foundation can boast of some of its students pursuing their 1st degree programmes in the various public Universities in Ghana.
This writer, Justice Abakah is no exception. Now a level 300 student offering BSc Administration (Health Services Management).
I am always proud to have associated myself with this noble foundation.
Kudos.
