Be an entrepreneur

.......continued.
Addressing the previous question that I posed, that can anybody be an entrepreneur?.  well, in my candid opinion, I think not everybody can be. It should also be noted that one need to have such entrepreneurial qualities as innovative, courteous, risk bearer, time conscious, motivation etc.
At last week's barcamp held in Takoradi, on the theme, 'Leading and entreprising in an Oil driven economy',  I ask One of the speakers in an informal conversation whether entrepreneus are born or made.  Upon deliberation we got to realize that it is a blend of the two. Whiles one school of thought think they are born, others think they are made.  Becoming a good entrepreneurs require hanrdwork, dedication, selfless and think outside the box.
Motivational factors of becoming good entrepreneurs as given by Cecil Nutakor. Takoradi barcamp 2010.
            1. Goal setting and idea screening
            2. Knowledge acquisition through researches, doing voluntary work, reality check etc
            3. Deriving inspirations and motivations
            4. Funding
            5. having a business plan
            6. Branding

THE NEED TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR

Many scholars have expressed sentiments on entrepreneurship as a practical area of study. Indeed the basic underlying principle emerges from the fact that, 'it is an innovative process of creating something new whiles assuming the risk of market failure'. Entrepreneurship cuts across other important disciplines, from economics, psychology, sociology and management.
It indeed saddens me when I hear young university graduates  say ' I am still looking for work',  when they are asked what work do you do.  Well, I think that most of us have not been adequately informed of the principles of becoming an entrepreneaur. Thanks to Dr Buame, a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS),who once said,'To start up a venture does not necessarilly require millions of Ghana cedis.'
I vehemently agree to and support the need for we all world wide in our small capacity create our own business venture and not always wait to get employed.
 Becoming an entrepreneaur will probably
 1. make one become his /her own boss
 2. bring out the opportunity to create your own destiny
 3. provide the opportunity to be recognised in society
 4. make a person reach out his or her full potential
 5. Most successful billonaires, locally and internationally, were through their entrepreneural activities. examples, Bill Gate, Kwasi Amoabeng, Alhaji Asoma Banda etc.
           I then ask a simple question ,

  CAN ANYBODY BE AN ENTRPRENEUR?
ARE PEOPLE DESTINED TO BE ENTREPRENEURS?
          To be continued...........

Talking about commonwealth hall and the issue of constituting this all male hale into a mixed graduate hostel, tensions have now calmed down with students going about their normal work.
